November whales flirting with boat passengers and with each other

November Saturday 11/1/19 Great whales! This week we’ve had about 10 humpback whales around Soquel Canyon offshore near Santa Cruz. Saturday, 11/2, we had whales close to the boat. By far, the best part was a group of three whales – a competitive group – chasing each other around in pre-breeding fashion, a mating-related routine. Sunday, we had great looks at whales near Aptos/ Seacliff Beach. Join us on board Velocity this weekend!
