Juvenile humpback whales, Fall in Monterey Bay

We had gorgeous calm seas on Sunday, with looks at many juvenile humpback whales - including a breach!

Thursday/Friday/Saturday October 22-24
Nice weather and lots of humpbacks around Soquel hole last few days. Quite a few youngsters that are a bit erratic in their behaviors. We got to see some lunge feeding, breaching, and close up visits by the whales. Short viewing sessions but many individual whales, and not too far offshore!

We saw a shark fin Thursday but there was algae in the water so sharks were not really visible otherwise.

There’s a mom and pup otter near harbor mouth.

Cute harbor seals bouncing around along the boat docks.
