Gray Whales, Risso's Dolphins

1/21/19 Early trip to beat the tides and wind, and we saw gray whales!

Winter southbound migration is underway; gray whales travel across Monterey Bay on their way to Baja California – We’ll see them return over the course of the season, with northbound migration occurring through March and April. Risso’s dolphins are also active now in Monterey Bay, feeding on their favorite: Squid!
