Wednesday, July 27th: 20+ Humpback Whales again, large rafts of California Sea Lions and thousands of jellies!
Tuesday, July 26th: 20+ Humpback Whales have moved into the area, including “Fran” and her calf! We witnessed breaching, pec slapping, spy-hopping and more! We also saw an elusive Minke Whale feeding at the surface and found a pod of Risso’s Dolphins on the way home!
Monday, July 25th: Humpback Whales, another beautiful pod of Risso’s Dolphins, California Sea Lions and a Southern Sea Otter with a large crab!
Sunday, July 24th: Santa Cruz Whale Watching found a Risso’s Dolphins nursery pod! We also saw mama Humpback Whale “Clubs” and her new calf nicknamed “Spades.”! This girl only did one breach, but it was pretty spectacular and everyone was watching. We just could not get enough of the playful, active Humpback Whale calf named “Spades”. She was putting on a show of surface behaviors. There was also a Small Mola-Mola, Brown Pelicans & Common Murre.
Saturday, July 23rd: Beautiful close encounters with a Humpback Whale, along with Southern Sea Otters!
Thursday, July 21st: Four Humpbacks again, Mola-Molas and Southern Sea Otters!
Wednesday, July 20th: Four Humpbacks, we knew two of them: “Percent” and CRC-15882! We also saw Mola-Molas and California Sea Lions!
Monday, July 18th: 2 Humpback Whales, many Black-footed Albatross and California Sea Lions!
Sunday, July 17th: We saw Humpback Whales. It was “Clubs” and her new calf again! “Clubs” breached for us as her baby rolled around next to her! We also saw lots of large Ocean Sunfish (Mola-Mola) and California Sea Lions!
